Editorial:

Operated by a local credentialed journalist, your comments, questions and story ideas are welcome. For writing and editing purposes, this publication uses The Canadian Press Stylebook and The Elements of Style by Strunk and White.

Submissions:

Submissions are welcome, but must be a minimum of 200 words. This publication reserves the right to edit submissions, which may be published or otherwise used in any medium. All submissions become the property of The Purple Violet Press.

Letters to the Editor:

Letters to the Editor should be sent electronically with the writer's name, date, address and daytime phone number to thepurplevioletpress@gmail.com. Letters containing profanity or abuse will not be published. Please ensure grammar and spelling has been checked before sending. This publication reserves the right to edit letters, which may be published or otherwise used in any medium. All letters become the property of The Purple Violet Press.

Comments - SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Abusive, profane, vulgar or threatening comments directed at readers, other commenters or staff will not be tolerated by The Purple Violet Press. Should such comments be submitted to the administrator, it will not be published and the perpetrator blocked from the site. If a comment is posted due to a technical glitch in Blogger, it will be taken down upon discovery and the perpetrator blocked. Also spam, advertising and links to commercial sites in the comments will be deleted.

Materials Usage:

As others are asked for usage of their materials, those wanting to reproduce, copy or distribute materials appearing on The Purple Violet Press site are asked to contact the publication for permission before doing so. If permission is granted, it is requested attribution be given to The Purple Violet Press on the re-posted materials. Although there is no money involved for our publication, this request is made simply for professional courtesy.

Privacy:

Information pertaining to stories, tips, etc. sent to via e-mail will be posted, quoted and attributed unless otherwise requested. Confidential sources will be protected to the best of staff ability. If information from confidential sources is proven untrue it will be immediately removed from the site and the appropriate action will be taken.
